Pilatus Club Skydiving

Comprehensive High-End 3D Modeling

The primary objective of this project was to perform a detailed 3D modeling of the Pilatus skydiving aircraft (registration F-GOYE) for the Agen club using photogrammetry. This operation aimed to create a high-precision digital replica by capturing high-resolution imagery from multiple angles. The data collected facilitates an assessment of the aircraft's current condition, the identification of potential wear or anomalies, and the creation of a technical and visual database for future maintenance planning. Furthermore, this modeling allows the club to document and preserve the state of the Pilatus for both educational and promotional purposes.

The 3D modeling mission for the Pilatus F-GOYE focused on creating a complete and accurate digital representation of the aircraft. This process serves to document its structural integrity, detect any potential issues, and establish an essential visual foundation for the club’s maintenance, training, and communication efforts.

For this mission, a DJI Air 2S drone—equipped with advanced sensors and high-resolution cameras—was utilized. Through photogrammetry techniques, high-definition photos and videos were captured from various perspectives to generate a highly detailed 3D model of the plane.

The collected data was processed using specialized software to create immersive audiovisual content, including technical imagery, high-quality videos, and visual assets designed for the club’s educational or promotional needs. This technology also enhances safety by eliminating the risks associated with manual inspections, particularly when examining hard-to-reach areas of the airframe.

Drone-based modeling offers remarkable precision, capturing every detail of the aircraft's structure while accelerating the inspection process and reducing overall costs. The final results provide increased visibility for the club and provide exhaustive documentation indispensable for future maintenance and communication operations.
